01 What exactly is BOHÍO — a restaurant or a bar?
Both, and deliberately so. BOHÍO is a Spanish-inspired wine bar with a small, seasonal kitchen. Come for a glass and a plate of jamón, or settle in for a full evening of shared tapas and natural wines. There is no wrong way to use the room.
Our menu is built for sharing: nothing arrives in a rigid course structure, so you can order as little or as much as the moment calls for.
02 Do I need to make a reservation?
Reservations are strongly recommended for Thursday through Saturday evenings and for any group of four or more. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are usually walk-in friendly, and we keep a portion of the bar for spontaneous guests every night.
Book ahead through the contact page and we will confirm by reply. If the evening you want shows as full, ask us anyway — cancellations happen and we keep a waiting list.
03 Is it expensive? What should I budget per person?
We are a neighbourhood wine bar, not a special-occasion-only restaurant. Most guests spend around €35–€55 per person for a relaxed evening of several shared plates and a couple of glasses.
- Wines by the glass start in the low single digits.
- Plates are priced to share, so a table of two can eat well without over-ordering.
- Ask for the day's pours — they are always the best value on the list.
04 Can you handle dietary needs — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies?
Yes. Our menu always carries vegetarian dishes, and many plates can be made vegan on request. Gluten-free diners are well looked after; we simply ask that you flag coeliac disease or a severe allergy when booking so the kitchen can prepare properly.
Tell us about nuts, shellfish, dairy and any other allergies before you order. Our team knows the preparation of every dish and will steer you safely.
05 Where are you, and is there parking nearby?
We are in central Antwerp, a short walk from the main shopping streets and easily reached on foot, by bike or by tram. Because the centre is dense and the streets are narrow, a car is not the easiest way to arrive.
If you do drive, use a public underground car park within a few minutes' walk rather than circling for street parking. Full directions and public-transport details are on the contact page.
06 Can I bring a large group or book the space privately?
Absolutely. We host birthdays, team dinners and small celebrations, and we are happy to discuss a set menu for groups of eight or more so the kitchen can pace things well.
For larger parties or a private buy-out, contact us as early as possible with your date, headcount and any dietary notes, and we will put together an offer that fits.
07 Is BOHÍO child-friendly or dog-friendly?
Children are welcome earlier in the evening, and we can adjust portions and heat levels for younger guests. The room gets livelier as the night goes on, so an early sitting is usually the most comfortable choice for families.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome too, provided they stay on the floor and the bar is not at full capacity. Just mention your four-legged guest when you book.
08 Do you speak Dutch — and is the menu available in English?
Our team works in Dutch, English, French and Spanish, so order in whichever language feels natural. The menu is in Dutch with clear English descriptions, and every wine on the list comes with a short note on style and origin.
If something is unclear, ask. Recommending a bottle is one of our favourite parts of the job.
